Rishav Jain is an Associate Professor and Program Chair for the Bachelor of Design at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. His work revolves around craft futures, contemporary design, and 21st-century design education. With diverse experience spanning over a decade, he has developed curricula, led educational programs, and conducted faculty development workshops. He has previously served as a Research Expert at the Design Innovation and Craft Resource Centre (DICRC). His research focuses on craft in contemporary contexts, particularly Building Crafts in India, and includes international design research projects at the intersection of craft, design, culture, and education, through which he has developed conceptual frameworks, toolkits, and methods.

He has authored Craft in Interior Architecture: India, 1990 Onwards (2015) and co-authored Catalogues of Vernacular Furniture: Punjab and Haryana (2021) and Craft Innovation Training Toolkit (2015). Alongside his writing, he has designed and curated exhibitions, books, and collaborative projects that engage with craft and design education. He also contributes as a Visual Communication Designer for CEPT Exhibitions. Rishav is a recipient of the Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT)–Simon Digby Charitable Trust (SDMC) Research Fellowship and the American Craft Council Scholarship, and has received Gold Medals for postgraduate research and undergraduate academic excellence, along with the Best Research Award for his master’s thesis.
